Workout Entry (1/2)

While I could use my mom's pass for MUNI, definitely had to go to the gym.  The pass can be used up to the 3rd day of the new month, so that means I'll be going to the gym tomorrow as well.  This meant that I should wisely choose which body area to work: legs and chest/triceps today, back and shoulders tomorrow.  This is to avoid me losing my grip doing deadlifts and romanians on the same day.

1. ERG 3 min   1:48/500 m average (828m)
2. Romanian 3x8 - 155, 155, 135 lbs
3. DB Bench Press 4x7 - 50, 55, 55, 55 lbs
4. Inclined Bench Press (machine) 3x8 - 120, 120, 120 lbs
5. Squats 3x10 - 135, 135, 135 lbs
6. Tricep Pulldowns 3x10 - 50, 50, 40 lbs
7. Pullups 5x5 - 15, 15, 12.5, 12.5, 12.5 lbs
8. Weighted Jump Squats 2x10/10 (10 w/ weights, 10 w/o) - 20, 20 lbs
9. Planks - 1.5 min on, 30 sec off (twice) - 1 min on, 15 secs off (twice)
10. Leg Lifts - 20 (self)
11. Bicycles - 30
12. In and Outs - 25
13. Pushups 3x20 (45 secs rest)
---------------
1. 3 min time was better than last time, I just hope I can stay at least above 1:50 every time.  Only did one today because I was planning on working legs today, which is to improve this of course
2. Grip did not grow too weak this time because did not do deadlift beforehand.  However, lower back was still sore from Thursday, so I lowered the weight for my last set
5. Just want to get back into it, I want to be able to do my 10x10 sets soon.  Felt myself putting weight on my toes a few times.
7. A bit sore from the Pullup Pyramids the day before, but thought that I'd throw in some more resistance for my lats to not get used to.  I had ample rest between each sets while I showed people deadlift and Romanian.  The last rep of each set either barely made it or barely missed it.
8. To help with the explosiveness for ERG

Workout Entry (1/1)

Yay!!!  Rainy New Years!
Pullup Pyramids = do 1 pullup, rest 10 seconds, do 1 more than previous set, repeat until FAIL
-----
1. Pullup Pyramids x3 (10 min rest between each set): maxed at 5 for each set
2. Pushups 3x30
3. Jump Squats 20 sec on, 20 sec off
-----
1. I was surprised that each of my max was 5, because logic suggests that I should max at less and less each time, I'm confused
2. just to work on my goal, perhaps too much rest in between
3. work on the erg goal that I set for myself recently, don't think I'll complete my running goal tho.  The rain has limited my running time, and I abhor running on treadmills.

MUHAHAHAH!

Just something I found while I was looking through the pictures in my phone.  It was on display in the toy store near Dragon House.

There was also a funny pic of Mary passed out on the coach, but we get to see that all the time, so why bother posting it here.

Workout Entry (12/31)

Biked to Sam's place so that I'd tail her, mack and mary while they run Great Highway.  I didn't want to run because my knee was still bothering me.  It took me just under 40 minutes to get to her place, I don't think that I'd be able to accomplish my goal of 20 minutes (even if I'm just getting into the very edge of sunset = 19th and Wawona).  Not without risking bodily harm, I somehow doubt I'd be able to take a hit from a car.

When I got to Sam's place, she showed me a way to make Lincoln even cooler than he already was.  (Lincoln was tall and everyone knows that coolness and height is proportional, example?  Me -.-)
See?  Cooler no?  The instructions looked a lot better, but it was only my first try.

When Mary and Mack finally got there, they ran down Great Highway and I biked with their water.  Then turn right on Lincoln Way, toward Irving (and pho).  I tried to loop every block along their route, but it was pretty hopeless, after 4 of such blocks, I deemed it impossible to try to keep up in this manner and just went back and forth.  There was a loooong stretch of steady uphill that I went back to twice.

Lunch at PPQ.  Then Wonderful Desserts.  Got a ginger tapioca.  It was pretty good, a little sweet, but good.
And then came time for the long ride home, with a stomach full of pho and tapioca and ginger syrup.  I was such an idiot thinking I could take on the giant hill along 20th Ave.  I went down to a pretty low gear and tried to stay seated the entire time (this works the quads more).  And then it started to sprinkle, which turned to rain as I got to Ocean, and continued until I got to city college.  Climbed the 2 remaining hills and I was home.  Finally.  I just knew my thighs were gonna be sore...
